Activist Jake Lang has announced a $65 million defamation lawsuit against New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani following a public dispute over recent security concerns and political rhetoric.
According to Lang, the lawsuit stems from comments in which Mamdani allegedly labeled him a “white supremacist” while addressing broader tensions related to a reported threat involving individuals accused of plotting violence in New York. Lang argues the characterization is false and damaging to his reputation.
The controversy escalated after Mamdani was criticized by some commentators for not forcefully condemning the alleged threat, instead focusing his remarks on what he described as extremist rhetoric in domestic politics.
Neither Mamdani’s office nor city officials have released a formal response to the lawsuit announcement. The case, if filed in court, could draw significant attention given the high-profile nature of both the claims and the individuals involved.
